KAMANZA-NIJO is a place where you can spend the time quietly while located in the town with good transportation access and close to Nijo Castle.This 150-year-old (estimated) small Kyomachiya house was reborn as a residence overflowing with light nestled close to modern life. There is a kitchen & dining room that envelops you with warmth, a pleasant tooriniwa (passageway) atrium, a bathroom bathed in the scent of hinoki cypress and a garden library overlooking a 100-year-old tree. Please spend a relaxing time here as though you are at home while soaking up the history built up in this small Kyomachiya house.

Garden library overlooking a 100-year-old tree

There is a 100-year-old Inumaki (yew plum pine) that has constantly been watching over the history of this dwelling. The garden library overlooks the old tree. The garden library is a small satellite library of the Wacoal Studyhall. It has diversified range of books to bring an opportunity to think about “beauty.” This is a place where you can meet books that will give you an even deeper impression to your trip to Kyoto.

Kitchen & Dining room

The kitchen & dining room will make an “eating in Kyoto” memory of the joy you get in making a hot meal with ingredients unique to Kyoto. The compact kitchen is easy to move in and easy to use. The cozy dining room has a great view. This is a space that will envelop you in warmness. We have prepared cookware that combines utility and beauty, dishes and cutlery to make your cooking time more enjoyable.

Please spend a relaxing bath time being wrapped by fresh natural plant extracts. We also prepare Imabari towels with a soft texture. In addition, we have a washing machine with dryer, which is convenient for long stays.
We have carefully prepared bedding to make you feel comfortable and relax during sleeping. The soft and confortable Bed comes from the mattress of “SIMMONS”. The Futon mattress supporting your body in a good balance and the light and soft down quilt covering your body fondly come from ”Nishikawa Co.,Ltd.”. Please sleep tight with comfortable beddings.

when can I enter the facilities?
You can enter your townhouse after 4:00 PM.
Can I leave my baggage ?
Baggage received by 2:00 PM in check-in front will be transported to the townhouse free of charge (one baggage per guest).Please tell me in advance if you would like to. ※We cannot accept baggage sent via home-delivery services or mail services (reception and townhouse).
What time do I need to check-out?
Check-out time is 11:00AM. A cleaning company will enter the townhouse at 11:10 AM. We don’t have a late check-out service.
